Millbrook High School has fielded a team on the gridiron since 1952. It took 29 years from the time the school opened in 1923 to start a football program, but the team hit the ground running. The Wildcats' first football conference championship was just five years later. Since those early days, Millbrook football teams have been to the state playoffs more than 30 times, holding conference championships for 15+ seasons.

The team celebrated its first perfect regular season (11-0) in 1999 and again in 2000 under long-time coach, Earl Smith. Smith led the Wildcats to a 145-49 record over his tenure, leaving in 2001, when Clarence Inscore took the helm for Millbrook. After 21 years leading the Wildcats, Coach Inscore retired.  Jimmy Vereen stepped in to serve as Interim Head Coach in August 2022, with a strong support staff that kept the Wildcats going. Making history that year, Millbrook fought to the third round of the state championships, giving a much-favored opponent a formidable contender in that final game. In January 2023, the Wildcats welcomed Laymarr Marshall as its head coach to take the program forward, which he leads today.

Our conference has evolved from Capital Area 3A through CAP-8, CAP-9, CAP-5, CAP-7, CAP-6, and back to the CAP-7 in 2017. Following COVID-19 postponements of the 2020 season, the Wildcats finished in a three-way tie for the conference championship during the spring 2021 season. It was the team's last run in a "CAP" conference before moving to the Northern Athletic Conference (NAC) in fall 2021. During the traditional fall season of 2021, the Wildcats finished in a three-way tie, this time in its new NAC-VI conference. Since then, Millbrook has remained a top contender in the NAC, setting the standard for football programs in the area.

Football remains a mainstay of fall sports, and it brings teamwork, life lessons, and personal achievement together in a contest unlike any other. Our Wildcats prove themselves daily on the field and in the classroom, and our staff ensures a safe, quality program.  We rely on community partnerships, volunteers, and family involvement to keep our football program at the top of its game. We are proud of our Millbrook High School Wildcats!
